Over the years the impact of automation has been a huge advantage to the planet. Many tasks have become fully automated to replace human workers. When looking at an automated machine you also must look at positives and negatives. Will the machine be environmentally friendly? Will the machine have a social impact? And will the machine have an economic impact? Now ill tell you a little bit about these 3 impacts..

Environmental impacts

When factories install an automated system they must consider the environmental impact. For example an assembly line in a food factory. This is a negative impact because it increases the amount of energy that is being used by the machines. In factories where cars are being manufactured, an automated pollution control system is added to the factory. This is added to reduce the amount of pollution that is from the cars. This is a positive impact because it means that there will not be as much pollution coming from the factory.

Social impacts

When an automated system is built is replaces human workers. Although this may sound good its bad for the workers. Having an automated system build leaves a worker out of a job. Having an automated system is also known to create new jobs for people. For example, there needs to be a worker who knows how to set up the computer which controls the system. Workers also have to assemble the automated system and set it up.

Economic impacts

Having an automated system increases the amount of production in a factory. This means the factory can make more of a product in a shorter amount of time. It also allows companies to make the product for less. Therefor they can sell the product for less. Also, when an automated system is added and it replaces a human worker, the company does not have to pay as many workers.
