Example #1:

To the right is a picture of an ergonomically improved chair. It is ergonomically improved in several ways, including: a back rest, arm rests, and a neck rest.

Backrest: As you can see there is a comfortable back rest. This will help both your lower and upper back. It will help because you will no longer feel the need to lean forward when doing work. Instead you can lean back comfortably and relax.

Armrest: The armrest is used to support your lower back and shoulders. When you have armrests, you tend to rest your arms on them and type on your computer in a relaxed position with your back against the backrest and your arms comfortably placed on each of the armrests. The armrests also helps to support the shoulders. This is because your arms are no longer dangeling off the end without support. Instead they are in a comfortable and supported position and therefore are no longer causing stress to the shoulders.

Neck rest: A neck rest is used to support your neck. This will stop neck pain and shoulder pain. Although an armrest and backrest do stop some shoulder pain it does not fully eliminate the side effects of leaning forward. Now that a neck rest has been installed, your neck has a comfortable place to rest against.

The last ergonomically improved item that has been added to this office chair is what you would call an adjuster. An adjuster helps you change the height of the seat and therefore lets you choose where it is most comfortable for you to sit.

Example #2

To the left is a picture of an ergonomically improved machanical pencil. As you can see near the bottom of the pencil is a special rubber grip. This helps when you have 'writers bump'. Writers bump is a callus that forms on your index finger. Normally you might get this if you write a lot. If you have arthritis and carpal tunnel then writing can be very painful. An ergonomically designed pen, pencil, or mechanical pencil can relieve pain from the hand, fingers, and wrist.

Example #3

Above is an ergonomically improved keyboard. There are many aspects of this keyboard that make it ergonomically improved. The one main aspect that is used in many keyboards is the two rubber ends. The two rubber ends are meant for the users wrist and forearm to lean against comfortably while working. This is why on most keyboards and lap top computers, the key board doesn't simply stop at the end of the keyboard but instead extends a bit further. This leaves space for the user's wrists and forearms. This kind of keyboard can help prevent carpel tunnel syndrome which can be very painful and damaging.
