Wedge
A wedge is a simple machine that is made out of two inclined planes put together. It is made of two inclined planes being put together to make one simple machine. It is used to separate objects from each other. Even though you will not get as much output forced than input force you use a lever so that objects will stay together or will be separated. An example of a wedge would be a axe or a door stop. Both are two inclined planed put together to either separate or bring together two objects.

Screw
The screw is a simple machine that also is a variation of the inclined plane. A screw is basically an inclined plane spiraled around. The screw also has less output forced than input force but it is not used to get the best mechanical advantage it is used to hold an object in place such as a lid on a wooden box. A screw like an inclined plane has lots of friction. This is because the sides of the screw are rubbing up against the object therefore making friction. But unlike an inclined plane the friction cannot be reduced but that much because you cannot put wheels or a lubricant on a screw.
