It was first documented by Archimedes, who was so sure that a lever could in fact move the earth.Many Ancient Civilizations used the Lever to build buildings, for example the Ancient Egyptians used Levers to build pyramids. In the Ancient Civilizations the Lever was used most commonly with cultivation, excavation and moving large objects, animals were also used to enhance the human effort. Levers were also used to weight gold and lifting contains of water.
